Is This New For You?

We get a lot of surprised clients that give us a call to report these types of issues, but they had never faced them before after living in the same home for years. The thing is since the soil below your home is in constant movement there are things that can change over time. In the worst case scenario, the drain that you had set up when the house was originally built is rendered useless because of this soil movement. If this is the case there is a couple of things that we can do to help.

Building A New Drain

As we mentioned there are a couple of factors that can affect your drain systems. One of the more common issues is the fact that your existing drain has clogged up. A lot of times these drains just get clogged up with the natural soil that runs around them. When we go in to inspect the situation we will evaluate the current state of your drain. A lot of times what we will end up doing is building a new drain entirely because we need to shift the direction in which water is being drained on your property.

How To Spot A Drainage Problem

Spotting a problem on time is key to being able to get a timely repair that is going to save you a lot of money in the long run. So, what are the things that you need to watch out for that could indicate that you have a drainage problem? Obviously, if you notice that your crawl space is constantly wet especially on any given day without rain or anything like that. That is an obvious sign that you may have a problem. Another one of the signs is a constantly soggy lawn. Again, if this happens constantly on any given day then you probably have a problem on your hands!

Backflow Issues

This is one of the worst problems to have because you are literally getting waste water flowing back into your home. It does not take a genius to figure out that this is not a good problem to have. An easy way to spot these types of issues is just literally by spotting the bad odor that this is going to cause. As we’ve covered with many other potential circumstances the quicker you call the quicker we can fix any potential problem.
